StriVectin-SH Age Protect is supposed to function as a sunscreen and an eye cream. To meet the sunscreen function, StriVectin-SH Age Protect contains five sunscreens as active ingredients. It also blocks the types of UV rays that cause aging. Creating an effective sunscreen is not as challenging as creating an effecting eye cream. We are interested in seeing if this product can do both.

The five ingredients that function as sunscreens are Homosalate, Octisalate, Avobenzone, Octocrylene, and Oxybenzone. Each of these ingredients blocks or absorbs UV rays. Some of them improve your skins ability to absorb ingredients.
StriVectin-SH Age Protect fills the role of an eye cream by reversing the signs of aging. That’s what the manufacturer claims it does anyways. We aren’t sure how this will be accomplished. StriVectin-SH Age Protect does contain several moisturizers and extracts that heal and replenish the outward layer of skin. However, it does not contain any of the ingredients that reverse signs of aging; eliminate wrinkles, fine lines, and dark circles.
The ingredients that would provide the aforementioned benefits are usually those that stimulate collagen production. The best ingredients are peptides. Peptides promote your skin’s natural ability to produce more collagen. Collagen is a building block of skin. When your body has higher levels of this building block, it can rebuild skin; reduce wrinkles; relieve puffiness; and repair the capillary damage that causes dark circles.
There are some preservatives in StriVectin-SH Age Protect that are harmful. They can cause irriation.
Overall Impression:
We would not recommend using StriVectin-SH Age Protect as an eye cream. Some of the harmful ingredients may cause irritation to the skin around your eyes, which is particularly sensitive. There isn’t a lot of point in using StriVectin-SH Age Protect around your eyes because it is little more than a sunscreen and moisturizer. It will not improve the appearance of skin or reverse the signs of aging, like wrinkles and fine lines.
The cost for a 2 ounce tube of StriVectin-SH Age Protect ranges from $32 to $49. We recommend buying it if you want a high-priced sunscreen, but we do not recommend it for anything else; especially not your eyes.
