Alyria

product image

A “skin optimizing system”, Alyria is sold exclusively out of Canada. They promise to use only the best ingrdients and technologies in the anti wrinkle world as well as patented delivery systems. And further, they call their products as being doctor recommended. Interestingly enough, it is actually sold exclusively through doctors in certain areas, only one city per state. One that we checked was an allergy specialist and another was a family doctor, not exactly the types you would expect to be dispensing anti wrinkle treatments, instead of licensed dermatologist.

Ingredients and Mechanisms of Action:

The Intense Wrinkle Correction includes Aqua, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Aqua, Carbomer, Polysorbate 20, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Behenyl Alcohol, Cetyl Palmitate, Polyacrylamide, C13-C14 Isoparaffin, Laureth-7, Caprylyl Methicone, Cyclomethicone/Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Dimethiconol Behenate, Isopentyldiol, Magnesium Aluminium Silicate, Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate, Petrolatum, Aqua, Xanthan Gum, Glucose, Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenan), Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Butylparaben, Propylparaben, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter, Retinol, Methyl Methacrylate/Glycol Dimethacrylate Crosspolymer, Titanium Dioxide, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Glycosaminoglycans, Aqua, Dimethicone, BHT, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate.

The only useful ingredients, 2 antioxidants known as ascorbyl palmitate and tocopheryl acetate, are at the very bottom of the ingredients list. This means that they are nothing more than window dressing, there for the fact of being there, even if is only extremely small amounts. The rest of the ingredients include irritating ingredients like titanium dioxide and retinol, fillers, and preservatives essentially speaking.

Overall Impression of Alyria:

There is really not much to say about Alyria, except we wouldn’t suggest buying their formula. It has no redeeming qualities whatsoever, and it would probably do more harm to your skin than good, especially if you have naturally sensitive skin. In fact, we’re not entirely sure it would do any good to your skin, making it a curious phenomenon that any doctor would sell this product, let alone recommend it.
